HMD GLOBAL, the official licensee of Nokia smartphones, announced the launch of the Nokia 8.1. This is the successor to the popular Nokia 7 Plus that was launched earlier in 2018. In this article, we review the Nokia 8.1 price and full phone specifications.
The Nokia 8.1 runs on Android Pie and features a notched 6.18-inch Full-HD+ Pure Display with HDR10 support. Qualcomm’s new octa-core Snapdragon 710 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz, coupled with a 4GB/6GB LPDDR4x RAM powers the phone. It has two internal storage options with 64/128GB3 e-MMC 5.1 internal memory. There’s also a MicroSD card slot supporting up to 400GB.
The phone carries a dual-sim (nano) slot. It is part of the Android One Program, meaning it’s guaranteed to get at least two major Android OS updates. In terms of display, the phone’s screen has an aspect ratio of 18.7:9, i.e. 81.5% screen-to-body ratio, 500 nits peak brightness and is capable of a 96% color gamut.
It also features Zeiss optics. It has a dual camera at the rear – 12 megapixel + 13 megapixel and a 20-megapixel camera at the front. Connectivity options include WI-FI, GPS, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, FM, 3G and 4G. This phone will be available in three colors – Blue/Silver, Steel/Copper, Iron/Steel and its price varies with the region.
